Haha. I’m so punny. Must have had a little extra caffeine in my coffee today. ;)
The other morning I picked up my house for company and I thought, “why not take some pictures of the upstairs to share with my readers?” I don’t generally take pictures of “unfinished” spaces, but we do so much life up here and I haaaave repainted every nook and cranny, that it may as well be “finished” to some extent. What it’s missing is some personal touches with pictures and shelves, but that just hasn’t been on the radar yet.
I can’t really believe that I didn’t take before pictures of everything before painting. You’d think that as a home design blogger, I’d have figured that out by house number two, but I just get so dang anxious to begin that I just go without pause to get things done! So here’s a glimpse of how we live upstairs…
We love this french door recroom. Perfect playroom/tv room and all round hang out room. (oh yah, I guess I’ve also painted cabinets in this room..) Biggest plus is that our lovely sectional fits it perfect. We scored it on Craigslist, but you can buy one new here.
The TV has yet to be mounted, but we don’t feel wanting for space. There’s a couple feet behind the end of the couch perfect for storing extra toys and blankets. And obviously plenty of room for this kiddo to do his thing!
Here is a before shot from the listing pictures.
The color was nice, but I wanted to paint something black and white, so this was the space to do it. Painting the trim and changing the door hardware is a HUGE game changer if you’re looking for some minor home updates. Honestly, I enjoy painting trim more than walls. And I was 6 months pregnant. So you could do it. :)
Here’s a terrible before shot of the hallway while it was getting painted.
We went with BEHR Ground Fog for the outer walls and stairwell, and BEHR Elephant Skin for the inner stairwell wall and banister.
This office center was already built into this space and it’s perfect (and white!). Built in storage is always a brilliant idea. (Oh hey Moose!)
Looking down the hallway you have our bedroom which went from khaki to white on a whim.
The guest bath, laundry room, and nursery.
You’ve seen the guest room before, so we’ll end on a peak into it.
So that’s it, pretty much no more secrets that this house holds? Ok there are a few rooms and corners that I shan’t be sharing until they get a paint job, but at least you know where they are now ;)
