Hey there!
I created this blog to document the excitement surrounding house hunting, buying, remodeling, and decorating our first home. We have the finances figured out and allotted funds to add our anticipated personal touches, so let’s go house hunt!
We’ve gone into our first house hunt with investing minds. We’ll start small, simple and inexpensive and work our way up to that “home of our dreams.” (Or maybe we’ll love what we find and do to our first house! Who knows!)
Today we toured this little rambler. We called it “the Murphy house” to remember which one it was among the rest.
I’m all about shake siding and painted doors. The front yard is landscaped nicely, and though the house is now vacant it has been kept up nicely.
Here’s a selection of pictures from the MLS listing of the rest of the house.
While house hunting, we’ve been making the obvious pros and cons lists, but also a list of remodeling we’d like to do to make it our own. This house stood out to us in a good way with lots of potential to do what we wanted!
Spoiler Alert: We bought it as our first home!! (party everyday, p-p-party everyday!)
Now you can see what we’ve done so far!
Kitchen: Demo, floating shelves,
Living spaces: Entry way wainscoting + honeycomb mirrors + corner workspace + hallway makeover
Bathroom: Painted tiles + concrete bathroom counters
And that doesn’t include all the fun DIY projects we’ve done along the way too! I hope you enjoy our first home adventure!
